REST

Far too often when raising toddlers and now teenagers, a quick fix for a bad attitude has been a nap.  Telling them to go lay down and rest their eyes for a bit has worked more times than I can remember.  Could I remind you today to rest.  Go take a nap.  Take a break from the hustle and bustle and trust that God has every detail you pretend to have figured out and still miss.  Believe today that He wants you to breathe in a holy, fresh wind of refreshing respite.  Rest.

"This is the property of that eternal and just law of God, that he who would not be ruled with gentleness by God, should be ruled as a punishment by his own self; and that all those who have willingly thrown off the gentle yoke and light burden of charity should bear unwillingly the insupportable burden of their own will."

                                                Bernard of Clairvaux
