Social media has allowed us to build echo chambers and kingdoms of our liking.  We post our thoughts and content with the expectation that others agree, like it, and repost if they love it.  All this reaffirms within us that we have the right way of doing something or the right things to say.  Somehow in 140 characters or less, governments should bow a knee, relationships should be mended, and prosperity should be attained all because we say so.  However, our kingdom is a glass house that anyone can also throw a rock at and bring to a dangerous end. Prayer, though, is a grounding of the soul that we aren't building our kingdom but are participants in God building His.  God's kingdom was established before us and will continue past us into all eternity. However, the forever nature of God's kingdom is - He invites us to lay aside our expectations and demands of our tortured thrones and trust that His way is better than our way.  May we surrender to His everlasting, all-knowing, all-encompassing nature that is more concerned for us than we could ever be concerned about ourselves.

"Praying and sinning will never live together in the same heart. Prayer will consume sin, or sin will choke prayer."    J. C. Ryle
